Rose Tinted Glasses

I have been up in Glasgow for the last week exhibiting at the Ideal Home Show, and today I’m off to Edinburgh to set up at Gardening Scotland. Sales at the show were fantastic, and we smashed our previous record. So, a big thank you to everyone who shopped with us.

The One Thing

I drove up to Scotland yesterday as this week I’m exhibiting at the Ideal Home Show in Glasgow. During the drive, I finished the audiobook, The One Thing by Gary Keller. As the title implies, it’s a book about identifying, prioritising and then working on the one thing that will have the biggest impact on achieving your goals.

Good Enough

I’m back in Nantwich for a couple of days before heading off to the Ideal Home Show – Scotland. It’s the first time in three weeks, and I’m looking forward to seeing my team and hearing how they have been getting on. Fingers crossed everything has been running smoothly!

Looking Back

I arrived at the Devon County Showground yesterday, a couple of days early so that I can do some cycling in Dartmoor. As I parked the caravan behind the marquee, I can’t help reflecting on the journey that Justina and I have been on over the last few years.

Soul Searching

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been having some very uncomfortable conversations with people whose opinion I value and trust. These are people who have known me a long time and who have watched my business career over many, many years.

I’m in Malvern For the RHS Flower Show, I have been to the showground many times and admired the beautiful Malvern Hills from afar, but never been out to explore. This year I have brought my bike to each show and I have been exploring.

It’s often said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different outcome. I should have this tattooed on my forehead and be forced to read it every time I look in a mirror!

Scar Tissue

Yesterday, I spent time with a friend who is also trading at Badminton Horse Trials. We both have similar sized businesses and a shared background that includes a previous venture that has gone bust. I recognise in him a kindred spirit…

I bought a beautiful white orchid for the caravan about six weeks ago. I remember reading somewhere that orchids didn’t need watering very much and that overwatering was bad for them. So, taking this to extremes, or maybe I had just forgotten, I hadn’t watered it since.
