The Last Minute

I arrived at Blenheim Palace yesterday in preparation for Countryfile Live which starts on Thursday.  Blenheim is one of my favourite places in the UK, the parkland is fabulous, and the palace itself is stunning.

Bat Out Of Hell

I remember the first company car my Father ever received; it was a brand-new Rover with electric windows and a sunroof. It was the early eighties; I was eight or nine, and I thought the world had come alive.

We’re Celebrating Today!

I’m celebrating a milestone today! This post is the 100th I have written since starting the blog in January. I can’t quite believe I have stuck with it all these months. Throughout my life, I have been good at starting things, but rather less good at maintaining them!

Facing Problems

I’m back under the giant tepee at Tatton Park Flower Show, watching the rain come down. Fingers crossed it’s not going to stop people coming to the show today. We have been fortunate so far this year with minimal disruption caused by bad weather.

Footsteps

I’m writing today’s blog post under a giant tepee at Tatton Park Flower Show; sadly it’s not as warm as previous days, but hopefully will be another good day.

Debt Problems

It’s been a busy few days. I left the Great Yorkshire Show on Friday morning and drove to Cirencester for the Cotswold Show, stopping at Nantwich on the way “past” to see the team and collect some more stock.

Old Wolves!

On Monday I arrived at the Great Yorkshire Show, tired, but very happy after an exceptionally busy Hampton Court Flower Show. The show stands are expensive, and we always cross our fingers and hope to make a profit. So, a big thank you to everyone who shopped with us. Without your continued support, we wouldn’t have a business.

Simple Joys

I drove back from Hampton Court Flower show yesterday and was lucky enough to listen to a program on Radio 4 called The Pleasures of Brecht. I’m no reader of poetry and had never heard of him before. The show was a celebration of the simple joys in life, and the story of Brecht’s much-loved poem that described them.

Butterflies

I arrived in London yesterday to set the stand up for RHS Hampton Court Flower Show. It’s one of my favourite shows of the year, and I can’t wait to look round the show gardens.
