Scented Candles
Three key factors were at the heart of our candle making journey: To make a candle that actually smells when burning and leaves a lingering aroma long after the flame has gone out. To use natural wax that’s better for your health and better for the environment. To deliver quality candles that don’t tunnel, but burn cleanly with no wasted wax left on the glass.
Our first candles were hand poured from a jug of melted wax at a kitchen table in London. We made candles this way for years until quantities were just too high to maintain. We now use large melting drums and pumps instead of jugs, but each candle is still lovingly filled by hand, by our wonderful team of candle makers in Cheshire.
Wicks are glued by hand to the bottom of the glass and a claw is fixed to the glass rim to hold the wick central. The first pour is done and left to set, before a second pour to ‘top up’ the candle and fill any gaps or dips caused by natural shrinkage of the wax; Finished with wipe of the glass and a snip of the wick.
