Hand Crafted
Candles

Traditional Craftsmanship

We proudly maintain traditional dipping methods and intricate craftsmanship when making our dinner candles.

MELTING THE WAX

We start by melting a drum of wax and mixing it with a carefully selected dye. Our candles are made with solid colour to ensure premium quality and visual appeal.

PREPARING THE WICKS

A dipping rack is essential for hand-dipping taper candles. It holds multiple wicks and allows them to be dipped into the wax simultaneously, ensuring uniformity in the candles’ thickness and shape.

DIPPING TECHNIQUE

When the wax reaches optimum temperature, our candlemaker will carefully dip the rack into the molten wax to coat the wicks. Precision is crucial to ensure the wicks are dipped to the correct height. The rack is lifted and the coated wicks are left momentarily to cool.

REPEATING THE PROCESS

Creating Taper Candles is a laborious craft. The rack is dipped up to 30 times to build the candle width, with the depth of each dip gradually decreasing with skill, to create the perfect taper shape.

DRYING AND COOLING

The candles are allowed to dry and cool between each dip to ensure that each layer of wax sets properly. This prevents any visual defects in the form or finish of the finished candles.

FINISHING TOUCHES

After cooling, the candles are removed from the dipping rack and inspected for quality. They’re then packed into our beautiful white boxes ready to make their journey to your home.
